My Baby Girl
Penny
aka Peiner Weiner

If tears could build a stairway...
I would be with you in Heaven.

On the night of March 17th Penny was killed by a coyote.
I can't put into words how much I miss her. It's as if a piece of my own body is gone. She will always be in our hearts.
~Lisa

Little Roxy sure loves Jake. They play together and sleep together, she eats his food and pulls on his tail and sweet Jake is oh so patient with her.

We have a new addition to the family!! She's a little mini Dachshund that we've named Roxy : )

Smile for the Camera!!

Well.....Rex is now Rexella! We've noticed him (uh.......her) acting funny lately and decided to take her to the vet. After an x-ray, we find out she's full of eggs!! So I've made her a nesting box and she will lay (infertile) eggs once per year.  The vet gave her a clean bill of health.

You didn't see him right away, did you?

Photo Shoot with Rex...

So we've had 2 hens sitting on some eggs for a couple of weeks now.One day I hear some little peep peeps coming from the nests. We now have 8 little chickies.
Here's the daddy...

Here's some of the babies...

And this one got it's eyes pecked at by it's siblings. She is now mostly blind although I'm hoping she will regain enough sight to go back outside and get out of my living room! Since she is a cross between a black Silky and a white Cochin, her body is a different color than her wings and legs. It makes her look like she has angel wings...

I love my tubby cat. Here he is cuddled up with a tennis ball. Silly Tubby.

I can't believe that my 20 pound Fat Cat was able to move his buns fast enough to catch a chipmunk!

Jake got his annual shave. Yes...he has a lion's tail (as usual...I can't help myself)

We dropped a rotting tree that was in front of the barn. I couldn't resist snapping these pictures of Billy trying to push over (and then eat) the stump!

The cutest Chihuahuas ever cuddled up together under a blanket. Awwwww

Let's see....

We have 3 horses named Copper, Daylight, and Brandy. Copper is Lisa's show horse from California. Daylight is a North American Spotted Draft mare that Lisa and Rob's mom, Diane, bought together and hope to breed in the next year or two. Brandy is a retired Quarter Horse who used to belong to Rob's brother, Nils Erik, but Lisa has adopted for his retired years.

There's 3 cats, Teddy (aka Fat Cat) who spends his time inside or following Lisa's every step outside. Kitty, a barn cat who will body slam anyone for a good pet. And Kris, a sweet grey cat that Rob used to have when he lived with his parents.

We also have a goat named Billy who is a BIG trouble maker and will eat ANYTHING!! There's also 3 chickens and 2 rabbits who live in the barn.

There's 3 dogs.  We have 2 Chihuahua's and 1 Golden Retreiver who thinks he's a Chihuahua. Penny, a California dog who Lisa rescued and then brought across the country to Connecticut (she likes the California weather better). Harley, who is the cutest Chihuahua ever. We bought him on puppyfind.com and had him flown into the Bradley Airport. He got along perfectly with everyone from day one. And Jake, the giant Chihuahua who is always trying to crawl into your lap even though he's 98 pounds!

We also have 3 tanks full of fish. Lisa's latest hobby has been to breed Dalmation mollies. We now have, oh, about a billion of them.

And finally, the Iguana named Rex (or Rexamus as Lisa calls him). Some people like him, some people don't, but just about everyone comments on him.  Lisa has had him since he was small enough to fit in the palm of her hand, and he too made the journey across the country in the backseat of the pickup truck (just imagine their faces when we crossed the Canadian border to visit Niagra Falls!!)  Now, he's about 5 feet long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail, and although we've always called him a "he", we think he is really a "she".

We also used to have 3 mice, who Rob rescued out of a dead engine he was fixing at work. 2 of them died without their mother but Lisa nursed one of them to a nice fat adult mouse. Yeah, a nice fat adult mouse who chewed out of it's hard plastic cage, ran out of the room only to get caught and killed by Fat Cat who had not taken his eye off the cage since the first day Rob brought them home! Go Figure!
